“Fancy Bear,” the cyber security team at Digitec Galaxus, protects millions of users and our digital environment from emerging threats. We're seeking a skilled Security Engineer to join our expert team and help shape the future of secure online shopping.
What impact do you have?
- Engage in real-world applications of cybersecurity practices with a focus on both (automated & scalable) offensive and defensive strategies.
- Implement, manage, and monitor security controls across our diverse cloud environments and on-premise systems.
- Engineer secure solutions, while hardening our existing apps and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into our DevSecOps cycle and CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate security workflows with popular scripting and programming languages, and review code to squash vulnerabilities before hitting the wild.
- Actively participate in threat hunting, detection, incident response, and vulnerability management activities.
- Contribute to security architecting initiatives that bolster our defensive mechanisms and prevent future threats.
What do you offer?
- Completed degree (university / university of applied science / higher technical college) · Cyber security or computer science.
- Several years · of defensive/offensive cyber security experience.
- German (sound knowledge), English (business fluent) ·
- Higher education degree in computer science or cyber security (ETH/UNI/FH) or equivalent relevant professional experience is required.
- Several years of defensive/offensive cyber security experience required. Industry certifications are a plus. Software engineering with agile experience is also beneficial.
- Security expertise in cloud platforms like Azure and GCP, version control systems, especially GitHub, scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell are necessary.
- An understanding of .Net & Kubernetes environments as a plus.
- Passion for learning cyber trends, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset. Willingness to challenge norms and suggest smarter, more efficient, or automated solutions.
- Team player with a collaborative spirit, eager to share knowledge and learn. You bring an open, authentic, and down-to-earth personality that fosters innovation and continuous improvement.
- English proficiency is required, along with either existing German skills or a strong motivation to learn the language on the job with support from our education programs.
